Nothing, absolutely nothing, I do is ever really simple, but, I make it a point to start a project with an outline. Notes everywhere, emails to myself, and thoughts of the plan at hand which awaken me in the middle of the night. That’s how I roll.
My ideas are simple but embedded in a fair amount of mental clutter. If that makes sense. I tend to overthink quite a bit but in a twisted way, that helps to keep me directed.
Beneath this pile of mental chaos lies a fair amount of organization. Trust me. It’s there. On top of that heap, there is a faint glimmer of light which leads the way to the finished results on a given project.
Of course, I always promise myself to streamline all future agendas for plans that are on the horizon, but, when the proverbial excrement hits the fan, I revert back to my time-tested-always-successful way of doing things.
That…is as simple as it will ever get. After all, as Charles Mingus once stated… “Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that’s creativity.” I resemble that quote.
