Historic or Pitiful?

This isn’t one of those “Rainbows and Sunshine” posts,  it’s a political rant and you have the option of just skipping by and not reading it; I won’t be offended in the least.

Vent I must…

Forgive me in not rejoicing that our government officials managed to pull that proverbial rabbit out of a hat and come up with a makeshift budget at the last minute.  Wouldn’t want to compromise any of their week-end golf or other plans now would we?

Each one of us has an opinion regarding the total chaotic series of events that has put our country into a black financial hole; we need change and we need it…fast!  I don’t know about your personal circumstances but where my family is concerned, we have put our energies into doing whatever is necessary in order to survive these horrific financial times.  Working exhaustively long hours, sometimes for seven days a week in maintaining our business, is all we know; that’s what having a solid work ethic is all about but that philosophy seems to have escaped our overpaid government bureaucrats.  None of their lives have changed drastically and I haven’t seen any one of them offer to work for less, even for no pay at all,  in order to show support for those suffering job cuts, or losses.  All I can imagine is how much money goes into the pockets of some of these elected shirks to cover the indecent expenses they incur.  How many of them drive their own vehicles, pay for their own gas, airline tickets, hotel rooms?  Too few to make a difference, I’m certain.

The drama involving our government has been in the news for weeks now and I question why our politicians weren’t able to reach a productive solution long before last evening, why they didn’t put in 12 hour days, or longer.  The “whys” are never-ending.

Now, this is being labeled as “historic” as our government decided to take the loose change out of spending. Now Obama after being present for almost a week can take that well deserved vacation. Now the Cherry blossoms can bud in Washington. Now all Harry Reid’s grandchildren can get their abortions paid for. Nancy Pelosi won’t have to borrow money to stay at George Soros’s conference.  People will all be able to get to work on Monday (if they still have jobs) since the streets will not be covered in the bodies of the elderly that were at risk of a shut down.  Our military families can wipe the spit out of their eyes and maybe breathe easier for a while longer.

Well that is what you and I are paying our politicians so much for… to avert natural disasters like a government shutdown.  I guess we should be counting our blessings while they just keep on saying……”Show Us the Money!”
