Another cookie, please! celebrates its first birthday this very day! Can you believe it?
I’m truly amazed that I made it this far. Really!
On August 20, 2010, with great trepidation, I plunked-out my first post and sat here, shaking in my seat, as my finger hovered over the Publish button. And I thought….
- Should I?
- Who will read my ramblings?
- Can I even call myself..a Writer?
- Do I even have anything worth sharing with others?
- Will doing this blog-thing give me that push to finish my book and become a published author?
- Why do people blog?
- Will I ever finish anything that I start?

Within about two weeks, and after a few posts, I had 3, maybe 4, followers, about as many comments, and I was thrilled. A year later, I’ve racked-up almost 142 posts, almost 1,200 comments and am blessed with 118 followers.
Who would have thunk?
To be honest, I didn’t venture out into wordland on my own, it was solely due to the influence of one very special person who I’m proud to call a friend. She’s placed an order with the universe and is solidly on a path to realizing her dream. I live vicariously through her, sometimes feeling angry with myself for not having that same gumption but happy that wonderful things are in her future as a writer.
Another cookie, please! is also the title of still not finished memoirs about my mother who died in 2006 after a long battle with Dementia. Her difficult life greatly impacted mine as I was her only child and the one who ultimately became her caregiver. Thus, the seeds for this blog were planted but after several posts, I decided to dance in and out of my book and explore my writing capabilities. Of course sarcasm, what makes me “me”, has helped to light the way.
Blogging has helped me gain insight on issues we all share from so many special people I’ve met over these last months. I’d love to mention each one, along with twenty reasons why I heart them, but this post would end up being a gazillion words! Readers would end up yawning, walk away to grab another cup of something and end up hopping onto another blog.
Better idea. Just look over at my Blogroll of Besties=====>
This year has been a time of learning and growth, as with any newborn. Battles with Blogger caused my move here to WordPress where I’m still trying to feel at home, constantly tripping over little issues, as I stumble along. My first blog-steps have been well…exciting, to say the least.
From the bottom of my heart, thanks to everyone who follows this little blog and takes the time to leave smiles in the way of comments.
Maybe I really am a Writer after all!
